DIY Dry Shampoo for PENNIES!
I created something today, and I was so impressed with it, I had to share it. Because sharing is caring! So, I wanted to share with my friends how to make your own, do-it-yourself dry shampoo.
I woke up this morning and I looked at my hair. I hadn't washed it for two days and my husband said, "Wow! Your hair is really shiny!" (I'm still not sure if he meant that as a compliment or not). But I said Oh my gosh, I don't want to wash my hair today!
Last week, I used this dry shampoo I had in a bottle, and I got an instant headache. I had a migraine for six hours! As you may know, there are chemicals that are harmful to your central nervous system and are neurotoxic. I should have known better not to use it.
So I wanted to create my own dry shampoo! I went into my kitchen, and I had some of this black cacao (dark cocoa powder) and I got it from Better in Bulk Foods...it was only $2.28 and I only used 2 tablespoons of it! You can use any color depending on your hair color. I also used organic non-gmo cornstarch. I mixed equal parts - two tablespoons of each - and I threw it in a bowl and mixed it up, then found an old mineral powder container and a makeup brush to brush it on my roots. It haven't washed my hair since Saturday and today is Monday. I used this on my hair today and YOU CAN'T TELL! It is AMAZING!
Try making your own dry shampoo from natural ingredients and let me know how it works for you! Send me some pictures of your mix and how it blends into
your natural (or not-so-natural) hair color!
